The Amr Group's core team is based both in the U.S. and the Arab World with a network of trusted consultants fluent in the professional culture of the Arab World throughout region. We have been working closely with NGOs, and on projects building Arab-Western relations since the 1980s. The Amr Group was founded in 2001 and its leading consultants have since undertaken endeavors in Europe, America and across the Arab World, from the Atlantic to the Gulf, with a concentration of expertise in the Levant, particularly Jordan and Lebanon, but also Morocco, Egypt, and the Arabian Peninsula. Hady Amr

Hady Amr is a leader in the conceptualization and launch of innovative institutions with strategic focus on the Arab World & on Arab-Western relations. He is a development economist, who formerly served at the World Bank, with over fifteen years of rigorous professional experience managing projects funded by the World Bank, various United Nations agencies, the Ford Foundation, USAID and similar institutions. Previously, he served in the Clinton Administration as an appointee at the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies at National Defense University, and as National Director for Ethnic American Outreach for Al Gore's Presidential Campaign. He also undertakes many pro-bono endeavors advising start-up NGOs.
Hady was appointed by Virginia's Governor Mark Warner to serve as a member of the board of the Virginia Public School Authority. He was also appointed to the board of the Virginia Task Force on Business Development in the Near East. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State he conducted scores of discussion groups in eight Arab countries on the U.S. foreign policy making process and in 2004 authored The Need to Communicate: How to Improve U.S. Public Diplomacy with the Islamic World for the Brookings Institution. In 2005, he co-presented on U.S.-Islamic World relations at Princeton University with Gov. Tom Keane, Chair of the 9-11 Commission, and Bob Hutchings, Chairman of the US the National Intelligence Council, and frequently lectures on the topic. Hady was raised in the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East and embraces innovative multicultural solutions. He speaks English, French and Arabic and earned a B.A. in Economics from Tufts University and an M.P.A. in Economics from Princeton University.
Dany Belerian

Dany Beylerian is a true innovative thinker and master business strategy consultant in project design. He directed the Armenia Fund, a non-profit dedicated to the development of large-scale infrastructure and humanitarian projects in Armenia. Previously, Dany was the Director of Corporate Relations at the Eurasia Group where he consulted with Fortune 500 companies on developments in Russia, and Central Asia. Dany began his career as a diplomatic consultant working in newly-established embassies at the United Nations, Paris, Beirut, and Washington, DC. He authored several policy proposals on implementing the Taiwanese model for the economic, political and educational reform in Armenia. Dany has extensive entrepreneurial experience, having co-launched several enterprises, including the Eurasia Group, Datek Online (now Ameritrade), and various online businesses. He is fluent in English and French, and conversational in Armenian and Arabic. Dany has a B.A. from Rhodes College and is a graduate of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
Anna Peregrini
political analyst
Anna Peregrini is a political analyst who recently held a post at the U.N. Department of Political Affairs in New York where she worked on electoral systems, and focused on Jordan, Haiti, the Palestinian Territories and Saudi Arabia, giving particular attention to gender issues. Previously, she worked for the International Crisis Group and opened their Middle East headquarters in Amman. She is also the principle author of an ICG report on the role of Palestinian Islamist social welfare organizations and the political implications in the 'war on terror'. She has also consulted in civil society, development and political affairs for various agencies including the U.N. in Gaza. A native speaker of French and Italian, Anna is fluent in English and speaks Spanish and conversational Arabic. Anna earned an M.A. in Philosophy and Communications from the Catholic University of Milan and also an M.A. in Development Management from the London School of Economics.
Karen Rignall

Karen Rignall is a master program strategist and author of key publications and proposals with a truly remarkable success rate for clients. She recently developed and managed a multi-million dollar U.S. federally funded program for ACCESS, the largest Arab American organization, to provide technical assistance to community-based Arab American organizations throughout the U.S. Previously, she served as the Director of the Near East Foundation in Morocco, managing a multisectoral rural development program in community development, participatory governance, gender, and income generation. Karen has worked with organizations, such as USAID, CARE, and Catholic Relief Services. Her expertise includes strategic planning, policy analysis, and project design and management. She applies her qualitative research skills as a trained social scientist to address community development issues in the Arab World, and with minority communities in the West. Fluent in English, French and Arabic, Karen holds a B.A. and an M.P.A. in International Development Policy from Princeton University and an M.A. in Anthropology from the University of Michigan.
Kais Sharif
focus group & survey implementation specialist
Based in Beirut, Lebanon, Kais Sharif has substantial experience conducting focus groups, managing survey implementation, and undertaking monitoring and evaluation exercises. Previously, Kais has worked in the fields of dialogue and reconciliation. Kais undertook his B.A. and M.A. studies in public policy and political science at the American University of Beirut. Kais has native language capacity in English, Arabic and German and lives and works in Europe and the Arab World.
